History

It was seen as a game of style and high rollers and became very popular among the Hong Kong population in the Portuguese area of Macao. The game reached America from Cuba during the 1960s, and is believed to have reached Cuba from Argentina. Today, with Internet available in every home, online Baccarat is very popular and has four variants. These are Baccarat Chemin de Fer, Baccarat Banque, Punto Banco or American Baccarat, and European Baccarat. In the first two variants of the game, the players make choices and rely on their skill. In Punto Banco, chance is involved a lot and no strategy, plan or skills are really important. There's another variant of the game known as Mini Baccarat, characterized by moderate bets and reduced table limits.
