The player who is rolling the dice is called a ‘shooter’ and at the start of the game all players make their bets on the numbers they predict or hope will come up or the ones they think will not come up. These bets are known as ‘pass the line bets’ and are followed by the rolling of the dice by the shooter. This initial roll is called the ‘come out roll’. The result of the bets that have been placed depend on the outcome of the ‘come out roll’. Should the ‘come out roll’ produce a 7 or 11, the pass line bets are immediately considered as winners, if the ‘come out roll’ is 2, 3 or 12, the pass line bets are seen as immediate losers. When the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 are rolled, this is known as the ‘point’.
