Le Web 3 Conference AttendeesNeville Hobson points me to a blog-storm surrounding Le Web 3, the major European blog conference.

It appears that a number of participants were mightily pissed off by the ‘hi-jacking’ of the event by politicians and the apparant disdain with which they treated their audience. I’ll share some of the participants words here.

Are you finding yourself watching the clock, counting the days to the weekend? Perhaps it’s time to evaluate and decide if you need to move on or…

Sir Young begins his travels

As many of you may be well aware, Paull Young kicks off his worldly travels today! While his adventures will brings us all many interesting — and no doubt, amusing — stories and lessons, the regularity of his usual contributions may be somewhat affected. For this reason, we ask your forgiveness for the natural tardiness of Dec. 1’s podcast episode. I’m sure the content to come will more than make up for it.

We all wish Paull the best of luck in his travels, and those of us meeting up with him during his trek are certainly looking forward to it!

The airline was contacted Tuesday night by the British government and, in less than ten hours it seems, put their crisis communications plan into high-gear. The task of warning nearly 33,000 passengers that they may have been exposed to a highly-lethal radioactive substance while trying to calm fears and communicate their real risk was low is no easy task. Immediately, the airline pulled the three planes out of service, put a statement on the wire and made information easy to find on their Web site home page. The airline wasted no time in divulging what they knew, not speculating and setting up hot lines for both media inquiries and consumer concerns.
