Hey, must be the money!

dollar_spread1.jpgThat’s probably what many people are thinking when they see a major company publicizing their good works for society, the environment, etc.

In Public Relations, we are always taught that the scope of our work includes going beyond just marketing services to customers, but also serving key publics by communicating their needs.

But, even while PR is about protecting the needs of publics, it is also about creating a mutually beneficial relationship. And for a client or company to be benefitting in some way, it usually means an increased profit.

So more and more, companies are trying to publicize their good PR works in an effort to break through the clutter of advertising and get some good attention of their own, maybe even an extra sale or two.
