How To Chart Your Career Path
At PRSA Georgia’s conference last Friday, I attended a seminar titled, From Here to There: Charting Your Career For Young Professionals. I think I was expecting the speaker to flat out tell me how to model my career and the easiest way to get there. Instead, she opened my eyes to a few simple truths that I should have already known.
First and foremost, everyone is different. You’ve probably been hearing this for as long as you can remember, but it is applicable. For example, someone who may flourish in the fast-paced agency lifestyle may stall when trying to juggle the responsibilities in non-profit PR. You must know what works for you. So, surprise, you have to figure out that part on your own first.
